RSL Family Foundation

RSL Family Foundation is being formed in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, as a not-for-profit company under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. Its objects are relief of the poor, education, medical relief and public health, science, research and technology for public benefit, the environment, art, culture and community development, and disaster relief.

Its income can be used only for its objects.

RSL Family Foundation is being formed under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, as a company limited by guarantee and not having share capital. Its registered office will be in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, and its objects extend to the whole of India.

Its Memorandum of Association requires that the income and property of the Foundation be applied solely to its objects, that no part of them be paid to its members by way of dividend, bonus or profit, and that its accounts be examined by a qualified auditor at least once every year.

Its Articles of Association name S. Santhosh and R. Lakshmi as its first directors.

Relief of the poor

Food, shelter, livelihood and other support for widows, elderly people, orphans, persons with disabilities and others in need.

Education

Literacy, digital literacy, skills and vocational training, scholarships and fellowships, and support for schools, libraries and training centres.

Medical relief and public health

Medical camps, screening and health awareness, preventive care and mental health, and medicines and aids for people in need.

Science, research and technology for public benefit

Scientific research for public benefit, including research facilities, grants and fellowships, collaboration with universities and research institutions, and publication of research.

Environment and climate

Tree planting, water conservation, air and water quality monitoring, clean energy, waste reduction and protection of biodiversity.

Art, culture and community

Heritage, languages, crafts and performing arts, libraries and archives, digital inclusion, sports, and community development.

Disaster relief

Relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction for people and communities affected by natural calamities and emergencies.
